The top of the hearing form is for gathering basic information to keep track of the hearings you have observed and to determine the length of the hearing. To complete this section, write in the case number (hint: it should be announced at the very beginning of the hearing). The Coder is you. Hearings should announce the Judge who is presiding over the hearing. The date, start and stop time may not always be apparent in hearings. But start and stop time (used to calculate how long hearings take) can be the time you begin observing the hearing and the time it concludes.
